Why Misery & Mayhem?

Misery & Mayhem started in a windowless basement gym.

You know the type of place we’re talking about: wood paneling, hasn’t been updated since the 1980s, and smells questionable at best.

Two friends, a former Marine turned engineer and a pizza boy turned producer, met at the gym every day at 6 a.m. to get their souls crushed by their new personal trainer, who had just finished his bid in state prison.

Stinging eyes, blurry vision, lots of swearing, frequent regret, and nausea were what the mornings consisted of. Hours later, at work, both friends felt like they were going to fall asleep or spontaneously fade into oblivion.

After suffering for what felt like an eternity, they decided to make a meal that could help them recover and keep them moving through the day without a crash: organic oats, high protein, and enough calories to do more than just maintain a pulse. 

So, you might ask, why Misery & Mayhem? Well, that’s why.
